At All Saints Anglican Church of Lancaster, we believe that religion is not just a set of beliefs, but a way of life. Our community is committed to living out our faith in practical ways, through acts of service. We worship and honor the Saints throughout the Church Seasons.
The Feast of the Holy Innocents, also known as Childermas, is celebrated in the Western Christian Churches on 28 December, the fourth day of Christmastide. (Image is The Virgin and Child Surrounded by the Holy Innocents by Peter Paul Reubens.) Father James is a member of The Order of the Holy Innocents (Anglican Priests for Life). This group of traditional Anglican priests is dedicated to defending Christ's Innocent children (by being their priests) in prayer and witness. We use the Book of Common Prayer and always submit to the authority of our bishop. Our cause is for the children of God from the point of conception to the gates of Heaven. We are a movement of peace, daily praying our Office and adding particular collects for the welfare, safety and well-being of holy innocents. OHI priests are obligated to offer Holy Mass each Childermas (Holy Innocents Day) in momentum and preach at least twice a year on the cause, one time being Pro-Life Sunday in January.

The creche, which is hand painted, was blessed in memory of our members who have gone on to a new life. This occurred first at the Christmas Eve Service and again on the First Sunday of Christmas.
The creche will be displayed during Epiphany.
Epiphany, also known as Theophany in Eastern Christiann tradition, is a Christian feast day commemorating the visit of the Magi, the baptism of Jesus, and the wedding at Cana. It is sometimes called Three Kings' Day, and in some traditions celebrated as Little Christmas. The traditional date for the feast is January 6.
In many Western Churches, the eve of the feast is celebrated as Twelfth Night (Epiphany Eve) on January 5.
Popular Epiphany customs include Epiphany singing, chalking the door, and or having one's house blessed. For information read:

The Creche in memory of those in our parish who have gone on to a new life.
The logo has many parts. The gold crown refers to the Sanctity, the gold scrolls with the red inscription Sanctus alludes to the chant of the redeemer, “Holy, Holy, Holy”. The silver grey on the left half of the field indicated the brightness of the Heavenly life in contrast to the black right half and the trials of the earthly life. It has been placed on a shield to refer to God as our shield and defender. (Psalm 84:9 is one of many passages referring to God as our Shield: “Behold, O God our Shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.”)
For further explanation on the shield shape refer to Hymn 288
O worship the King, All glorious above, O gratefully sing God’s power and God’s love;
Our Shield and Defender, The Ancient of Days, Pavilioned in splendor, And girded with praise.
“O Worship the King” draws upon the splendor of 19th-century monarchy as a metaphor for the magnificence of the Almighty. Attributes of an earthly monarch are magnified to communicate the characteristics of the King of kings—one who by nature cannot be described.
